Store & Special Orders

The shop places two orders each week from Ingram Content Group, the nation’s largest distributor for bookstores and retailers. Orders are placed at 9am Wednesdays and 11am Sundays. Wednesday orders are processed and shipped to the store by Friday afternoon (Monday if shipped from our region’s designated secondary warehouse), and Sunday orders arrive at the store on Wednesday (or Thursday if shipped from the secondary warehouse). Customers placing special orders with the store should keep these dates in mind when ordering.

Orders can be placed in person at the store, calling 319.247.2665 during regular business hours, emailing npb.newbo@gmail.com, or messaging the store via Facebook. There are no additional charges for placing a special order. Whenever possible, customers should pay for their purchase upon ordering.

In addition to Ingram, the shop places regular orders with several publishers including Penguin Random House, Hachette, and W.W. Norton, among others. These orders generally involve ordering larger quantities of single titles (especially new releases), and seasonal or holiday titles.

Non-Profit Orders

Next Page Books offers local non-profit organizations, at a minimum, a 20% discount when the books ordered contribute to the organization’s core mission and/or programming. The shop may be willing to negotiate better terms depending on the intended use of the books and the size of the order.

The store requires organizations to provide the appropriate documentation to prove tax-free status for state sales tax to be waived. Once an order arrives, groups have NET 30 days to make payment in full.

Next Page has worked with numerous non-profit organizations over the years including area churches, Cedar Rapids Pride, the Zac Johnson Foundation, and Tanager Place, among others. Contact the store for additional information and guidelines for placing orders for non-profit groups.

Educational Orders

Next Page Books offers schools and educators a 20% discount when the books ordered are specifically intended for use in a classroom, school library, or special program. Orders must be placed by an individual currently employed by an accredited school (K through 12 public or parochial, college, or university; the 20% discount is not available for homeschooling). A valid institutional photo ID card must be provided by the person placing the order to establish proof of employment. Persons eligible for placing orders include administrators, principals, teachers, and librarians. The store offers NET 30 terms once orders arrive in store.

The shop has worked with and provided books for the Cedar Rapids and Linn-Mar public schools, Coe College, Mount Mercy University, and Kirkwood Community College, among others. Contact the store for additional information and guidelines for placing educational orders.

Business & Corporate Orders

The bookstore offers a 20% discount on purchases of multiple copies of a single title. The shop may be willing to negotiate better terms depending on the number of titles requested and the size of the order. The store typically offers NET 30 terms once orders arrive in store.
